Vikings Motto: Power Moves Only.

The guy I am most happy for, after the first round of the NFL draft, is none other than Teddy Bridgewater. Lets face it, the guy at one point was projected to be the number one overall pick in this years draft and he just so happened to be overshadowed by the phenomenon named Johnny Football. At the end of the day other top quarterback prospects, Blake Bortles and Johnny Manziel, were drafted by teams that desperately needed depth at the quarterback position ahead of Bridgewater. The Minnesota Vikings were another team with the need at quarterback, and they knew if they didn’t pounce on Teddy at some point late in the first round, another team would.

Probably the biggest move in my book was the Vikings move to trade into the first round late and select Bridgewater. If they didn’t Houston, with the first pick in round two of the draft, would of most certainty taken the guy, leaving them with Clowney and Teddy (let that sink in). But the Vikings themselves got two jems in Anthony Barr out of UCLA and eventually Teddy Bridgewater.

I am not sure who the General Manager is of the Minnesota Vikings but I envy his decision-making skills. Last Years draft, the Vikings selected 3 top prospects in the first round, one of which was Cordarrelle Patterson. 2014’s draft proved to be similar by selecting two top prospects. But back to talking about Teddy, I am happy for the guy. I truly believe Teddy maybe the most NFL ready out of the other top quarterback prospects, and with the level of talent at the quarterback position on the Vikings right now, it looks like he will start week 1. Minnesota will be a great home for the dude, after all how could you be upset with a team with Adrian Peterson on it? #BarneyPurple #nosoap

MUST WATCH: Madden 15 Trailer Released.

It seems EA Sports has wasted no time in preparing for the upcoming NFL season. Today they have released the trailer for the coveted video game that celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. Of course I am talking about Madden.

The trailer shows Carolina Panthers Linebacker Luke Kuechly. For those of you who don’t know, Kuechly won the defensive player of the year award last season, so it was a no brainer for EA to have him represent the video game franchise in their latest ad. But to sum things up, the trailer really doesn’t show us anything regarding new improvements to the game itself, other than its stellar graphics.

So the next topic to discuss is who will be on the cover? Will it be Kuechly? How about his teammate Cam Newton? What about his ex-teammate Steve Smith? Who knows, but one thing we do know is, is that the NFL season is a few months away, there is no need to hype up a video game that will be released at the end of August.  #staygoldenEA #nosoap

Real World: Washington Sports.

Wednesday, the NFL presented all 32 teams their schedules for the upcoming 2014-2015 season. Its safe to say new head coach, Jay Gruden, likes what he sees.

Taking a look into the grind ahead, the Redskins have a strong opportunity to climb the ladder and get out of the bottom of the division they have been so familiar with from previous seasons.

I know its VERY early for any predictions to be made at this point, but.... based off of last seasons stats, I am liking the skins chances for a division title run. The excitment can be seen throughout the community already, and it's April. DC is finally starting to do things right. There must be something in the water because the Wizards are looking good in the playoffs, and no that was not a typo.
It's funny to think that 3 out of the 4 DC teams are destined for greatness, and the ones being excluded are the Caps, who over the last couple of seasons have almost always been one of the teams to beat in hockey. A lot of buzz has been generated by the Nationals since winning the NL East in 2012. The past two seasons, SI has had them favored to win the World Series, and although last year they failed to make the playoffs, their late season run set great expectations for this season. Things such as this have brought more and more fans into the sporting world that is Washington Sports, and I am loving every damn moment of it.
For years, DC teams have been one of the many laughing stocks of professional sports, and finally this is not that case. I say this with high expectations for not only the Redskins 2014-2015 season, but for the rest of the Washington sports teams, lets keep this train rolling. #Doitformycity #Nosoap
