Our Year! + predictions

First and foremost, being as this is my first post, I would just like to say that I am clearly the best looking blogger on the reach. With this out of the way, I want to be the first to tell you that not only are the Kansas City Royals (our year) going to make a big push to win the AL Central, but that you shouldn't be surprised to see a deep playoff run from the boys in blue. Alex Gordon and Salvador Perez were all-stars last year and I seriously doubt this year will be any different. Look for Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas to finally play up to their full potential and join them on this list as well. New this year to Kansas City will be a second basemen not named Chris Getz (fuck that guy). Omar Infante looks to come in and lock down easily the weakest spot for Kansas City the past few years, let's just hope this nagging elbow problem won't hang around for much longer and he can stay healthy. Now I won't sit here and tell you that James Shields will single handedly carry this pitching staff to the promise land, but then again, I'm not going to say he won't. Big Game James finished last season 13-9 with a 3.15 ERA and quite possibly the least run support out of any big time starter besides maybe Jose Fernandez (go Marlins). Yordano Ventura looks like a lock to finish in the top 3 in rookie of the year voting, which will give aid to Shields. The montra for this staff should be "keep it together until we get to the 7th". I don't want to see a single starter besides Shields go the distance. Get to the 7th and hand the ball off to the most consistent bullpen in the league (minus Kelvin Herrera). I don't see any reason why the Royals can't win 90 games this year, the question is whether 1. Ned Yost is successful in trying to ruin every game that's close and 2. Can the young guys finally start showing all the promise we've been hearing about for so long.

Happy Opening Day!!!!!!!!
