Real World: Doge Over All. Even in NASCAR?

Every now and then something bizarre happens in sports. Friday night at Charlotte Motor speedway, something bizarre happened to a no named stock car driver.

This weekend NASCAR, celebrates its All Star weekend where the best drivers in the sport compete for a million dollars in “win or go” home event where the winner receives a million dollars. The race consists of previous winners of the previous season, winners of the current season and past winners of the event over the last 10 years.
NASCAR has implemented a race of drivers not eligible to race in the million-dollar event, giving them a chance to race their way into the show. The winner and runner up of this event transfers into the main event with NASCAR’s elite. Friday night, drivers Clint Bowyer and A.J. Almindinger transferred their way into the main event scheduled for Saturday night. Along with those drivers, a driver can make it into by being voted in by the fans.

Now for those of you who don’t know, there is a very attractive female in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series who over the past two years has not won a race. With that it’s a given she would receive the fan vote just off her good looks, Apparently not.

This years fan vote winner was Josh Wise. No you did not read that wrong. The driver of the number 98 Dogecoin.com car won this year’s fan vote over, as mentioned before, highly favored Danica Patrick. You may ask yourself how is this so? Well Wise’s sponsor, Dogecoin.com, went all out to get their driver into the million-dollar event.

Foxsports.com reported that one fan voted over 84,000 times for Wise to make it into the event. His main reason being that, he wanted to see the Dogecoin car in the All Star race. Doge has become a very popular account on Twitter, and with the Doge logo on a NASCAR race car, the fans wanted to see that car fighting it out with NASCAR’s best.

Wishing all the best for Josh Wise in the million-dollar event. History is not on his side however, as only once in the race’s long history has a fan vote winner won the race, which was in 2008 when Kasey Kahne won after being voted in by the fans. But it is safe to say Josh Wise will hear his name being shouted by thousands of people at the Charlotte Motor Speedway as the Dogecoin car makes it way out onto the grid!

                        Wow
                                    Very Wise
                          Such fans
                                    Much #nosoap
