A Big Man With an Even Bigger Stick

I just received an invite to join this blog and I thought, why the heck not join and see what kind of fun and trouble we can stir up. I'm a local to the Miami area so I figured I'd start this one off with a local bang. For those of you who forgot about the Miami Marlins due to the fact they’re a trash ball club, they still have one of todays top young home run hitters. The Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton, punishes baseballs for a living. This dude is a beast and is not afraid to whack balls out of the ball park. Last night, Stanton mashed a tater of Stephen Strasburg to dead center for a three run blast to give the last place fish a three run lead in the first. However, what I’m getting at here is Stanton has five homeruns this year and all of them have been jaw dropping bombs. He hits balls so hard and far its enough to have your panties fall down. He hit a ball last week in Philly that traveled 487 feet. Thats absurd if you ask me. Over spring training he launched a ball off the Mets that landed on another field over the batters eye in dead center. Estimated distance over 500 feet. Last person to hit a 500 foot homerun was Bryce Harper when he was 16 (not on steroids) using a non bbcor aluminum bat. So basically, if you're a MLB pitcher facing Stanton what do you…. is there a way to keep this 6”6 beast from tearing the cover of the baseball? Hopefully in years to come when this guy is chasing homerun and batting tittles the Marlins wont sell him off for some 18 year scrub, that I wont see in the big leagues for another seven years. All hail Giancarlo Stanton and his big bat because he will punish you if you throw a ball over the middle of the plate.
